Better Outcomes

Nurses work hand in hand with other health care staff members to produce the best possible patient outcomes. Our labs, set up to simulate a clinical situation, allow you to practice determining the best course of action for the patient and then delegate tasks and communicate accordingly.

Not only do these activities let you demonstrate your skills in a contextual learning environment, but they also foster critical thinking and improved clinical judgment. Because of your extensive hands-on training, you’ll be highly sought after. 100% of our nursing majors are offered a job or are accepted into graduate school.

Selective Program

Applicants for the direct-admit BSN Program should apply for admission to Florida Southern College and select Nursing as their intended major; a separate application is not required but admission is competitive.

The BSN program selects students with the highest academic profiles who we feel will be most successful in our rigorous nursing curriculum. First-year nursing students average a 3.76 high school GPA, 26 ACT, and 1240 SAT.

During my internship, there was a patient who ended up becoming septic, in which immediate intervention is necessary to decrease fatality. Due to the critical thinking skills I developed at FSC I was able to recognize this situation and act quickly to prevent a fatal complication.

My favorite things about nursing is the fact that we get to have hands on learning and nursing classes starting our freshman year.
