Florida Southern graduates boast a 100% first-time National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) pass rate.
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Florida Southern College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
Unlike other schools, which make you wait until your junior year before starting your nursing program, you begin the nursing program in your first year.
Graduating from the BSN program prepares you to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses.
Complete your clinical experience at some of the nation's busiest, most technologically advanced hospitals.
Applicants for the direct-admit BSN Program should apply for admission to the College and select Nursing as their intended major; a separate application is not required but admission is competitive.
The BSN program selects students with the highest academic profiles who we feel will be most successful in our rigorous nursing curriculum. Fall 2018 first-year nursing students averaged a 3.76 high school GPA, 26 ACT, and 1240 SAT.

An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher is required for progression in the major. Students must achieve a grade of C or higher in all required coursework for the nursing major. Standardized testing is used to monitor student progress throughout the program, and students must pass a final exit examination to meet BSN major graduation requirements.
Occasionally, there are opportunities for students who are already enrolled at Florida Southern to apply to the program. They must follow the procedures outlined in the current FSC catalog, part of which require a written essay and a meeting with the nursing program director during the November month of their first semester. To be considered, students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and completion of prerequisite coursework.
Due to the direct-entry nature of the program, which fills all available slots at the beginning of freshman year, generally, there is no opportunity for transfer students in the nursing program.
The nursing program curriculum is designed for direct entry, with nursing courses beginning in the first year and continuing sequentially for four years. Students entering Florida Southern with substantial college credits are encouraged to select a minor to enhance their education over the four years.
We strongly encourage you to consider joining the Florida Southern College community with a different intended major. FSC offers other options for students who have an interest in working in the healthcare industry. Graduates of our Exercise Science program are prepared to move on to graduate programs in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Exercise Physiology or enter directly into the workforce through the strength and conditioning concentration. If you plan to enroll at Florida Southern College, please speak with your Admission Counselor about changing your intended major. Your Admissions Counselor can be reached at the Office of Admissions at 863.274.4131.
