Conduct Original ResearchOur support of engaged learning encourage you to explore everything from the genetics of heritage rose varieties, to testing new citrus rootstock varieties, to developing commercially viable methods for growing greenhouse crops.
Gain Real-World ExperienceGain on-the-job training in an aspect of citrus or horticultural science that interests you. Participate in a summer internship with a nursery, tree farm, citrus grove operation, agri-chemical company, a fertilizer company, or a research lab.
I like to work closely with my students, from a scientific research point of view. Define a problem, design a method of coming up with the answer to the problem, and then actually do the research to find the answers. I think it is important to instill the sense of curiosity and joy and wonder about what we do.
All freshman applicants to Florida Southern Colleges full-time degree programs must submit the following information:
Applying to Florida Southern as a transfer student is easy.
- A completed application form
- Personal statement
- All official college transcripts
- Social standing form
If transferring less than 24 credits, we also need your:
- Official high school transcript
- SAT and/or ACT scores
