Computer Recommendations

For full-time students, a laptop is recommended versus a "netbook." Many of the new "Ultrabook" laptops do not include a DVD drive and some do not have Ethernet port. Most newer laptops include wireless capability as a standard.

Recommended Software

Anti-virus software – Avast Antivirus is preferred. FSC students may visit Rinker Technology for assistance with installation of a free version.
FSC students have Microsoft Office available to them online through their @mocs account.

Please Note:

Students will need to use their printers with a USB cable versus using them on the wireless network in on-campus housing. Check with college ITS before purchasing personal assistant devices, SMART TVs, etc. for recommendations on what works on our on-campus network.
