Dining Experience

Campus Favorites

Wynee’s Bistro

Wynee’s is the main dining hall on-campus and it offers the widest variety of options. The menu is ever-changing so there’s always something new to try. There is a sushi station, a salad bar, pizza, and pasta that you can choose from every night, plus stations that rotate. Sometimes, the cafeteria will feature popular restaurants like Moe’s and Chick-Fil-a. The staff serve three meals a day and give you plenty of food for your snake bites.

Steak and Shake

Don’t miss out on our newest dining option on campus, Steak and Shake! This long awaited addition to our campus is finally here and we couldn’t be more excited. The menu features their world famous steak burgers, sandwiches, chicken fingers, and, of course, thick delicious milkshakes. The prices are just as low as other locations, so you won’t be stretching your snake bites!

Buckstop

Who doesn’t love a good slice of pizza? BuckStop is the perfect place to grab a quick slice before class or sit and enjoy a whole pie with your friends. Seating is outdoors, so it’s a nice, breezy spot to dine. The stand offers several types of pizza from your standard cheese to meat lovers and veggie. If pizza isn’t what you’re in the mood for, you can also find burgers and sandwiches to satisfy your appetite.

Happy Place

Happy Place offers some of the tastiest food on campus. The menu highlights the BBQ flavors we love in the south, featuring pulled pork and smoked chicken. There’s plenty of options, but a favorite among students is the loaded french fries. Topped with your choice of meat, cheese, and bacon, these waffle fries are bursting with flavor. No matter what you get, the portion sizes are huge and filling. Make sure you ask for some of the cornbread on your way out!

Tutu’s Cyber Cafe

The best place to find a good cup of coffee on campus would be Tutu’s Cyber Cafe, FSC’s most popular study spot. You can find students studying at all hours of the day, usually accompanied by a cup of Starbucks coffee. Tutu’s is also known for their delicious breakfast sandwiches. The staff can make your sandwich on a croissant or bagel and your choice of bacon, sausage, or meatless. It’s a great stop for midnight snacks and early morning study sessions!

College Terrace

Located right across from the bookstore, this popular spot is always bustling with students. Healthy Blend Deli has lots of great menu items but students especially love the three different kinds of flatbreads: Chipotle Chicken, Chicken Florentine, and vegan. They also serve deli sandwiches, quesadillas, and salads. While you wait for your food to be prepared, Freshens is ready to make you a smoothie! With lots of fruit-filled concoctions, there’s something at Freshens for everyone.

GrillMaster

At FSC, we’re known for our beautiful campus. When you eat at GrillMaster, you can enjoy your meal with a perfect view of the gorgeous waterdome. The small stand serves burgers, sandwiches, and plenty of vegetarian options. Plus, it’s located right at the entrance to Tutu’s so you can enjoy your meal with a cup of coffee. GrillMaster is a quick, convenient place to grab a quick bite before class.

Moc Mart

When a quick snack or drink is what you’re looking for, head over to the Moc Mart! Located right next to the College Terrace, the Moc Mart has everything you could need from a convenience store and more. From energy drinks to frozen meals, to candy and cookies, the Moc Mart is your one-stop shop for all your snacking needs!

How Eating on Campus Works

Snake Bites are the on-campus food currency. Every first-year residential student is required to use the 20-meal plan, but how exactly does that work?

Getting the best bang for your "bite"

With the 20-meal plan, students are allotted 160 Snake Bites (the on-campus food currency) per week. This rounds out to about two meals a day with some to spare. You spend your "bites" on the food items you want to eat. There are so many ways to use your Snake Bites that you will never go hungry.

  1. You don’t just have to eat at Wynee’s. Wynee’s Bistro is certainly one of the most popular dining spots on campus; it’s right in the middle of all the action. However, there are eight other dining options on campus, some of which have cheaper items. For example, over at the Buckstop, slices of cheese pizza go for just 2 Snake Bites and GrillMaster sells their burgers for under 4 Snake Bites. Taking advantage of these cheaper options on the go can free up some points.
  2. Look out for “Meal Deals”. Dining services do their best to make sure there are worthwhile options for meals. At Wynee’s, a meal deal is offered that allows students an entree and four sides for only 8 Snake Bites. College Terrace and TuTu’s also offer similar combos that take your points farther.
  3. Leftovers are your best friend. Every dorm comes equipped with a mini fridge and microwave, so why not use them to your advantage? Most of our dining options are generous with their portions, meaning it’s easy to set yourself up with leftovers. The College Terrace offers sandwiches that are well worth two servings and Happy Place’s servings of loaded fries are absolutely massive.
  4. Take advantage of the Moc Mart. Our convenience store on campus is the perfect spot to stock up on groceries for the week. From snacks to frozen meals, the Moc Mart has everything you need to keep your mini fridge full for the week. Frozen and microwavable meals are a quick, easy, and cheap option for days when a walk to Wynee’s seems too far.

Keeping track of your Snake Bites is easy!

The GET app is a super helpful way to keep track of all your Snake Bite related needs. Every student on the meal plan has an account with GET. The app can be downloaded straight to your phone, meaning you have constant access to your Snake Bites as well as contactless payment. Long gone are the days of handing the staff at TuTu’s your crowded lanyard, now you can use the app to pay for meals. There’s a digital version of your ID that is scannable only at dining locations.

Along with keeping track of how many Snake Bites you have, it also keeps a log of all of your transactions so you can see exactly where your Snake Bites are going. This log includes the exact amount of Snake Bites spent and which dining option you spent them at, along with how many Snake Bites have been rolled over at the end of the week. For students who wish to take advantage of Moc Bucks, the app also tracks your spending there as well. Your balance is recorded right alongside your Snake Bites and rollover as well as in the transaction log. Low on Moc Bucks? That’s okay, you can add them to your account right from the app!

I love the variety of foods available on campus. There is always something great to eat just a short walk away.

Vegetarian options & Special Dietary Needs

We accommodate many students each day in Wynee’s with meals specially prepared by our chefs. The Portobello line is where we have our daily vegan and vegetarian entrees at lunch and dinner.

My staff and I partner with Student Government to hold a monthly Food Committee meeting in order to satisfy our student’s culinary requests.
