Tory Parish, RA, NCARB
Architect-in-Residence
Drawing from a wealth of architectural experiences throughout my career, extending to include urban design and historic preservation for Charleston, South Carolina, which produced the country's first preservation ordinance and historic district, it is my intent and privilege to teach the understanding that the spaces we design will shape the daily experiences of others. The built environment has a huge impact on people's lives, and architects have the important responsibility of handling this with craft, care, durability, and a sense of stewardship. Nearby Bok Tower, a Polk County treasure, echoes the similar sentiment of its founder, Edward Bok: "Make the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it."
