Lauren Griffiths, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Biology Ecology
BiographyDr. Lauren Griffiths will be joining us as an assistant professor in the Biology Department. She received her B.S. in Environmental Studies from right here at Florida Southern College in 2014. Dr. Griffiths received her M.S. at Florida Gulf Coast University and her Ph.D. from the University of South Florida with research focused on wetland ecology and biogeochemistry in Florida and Puerto Rico. She comes to us from the University of Florida where she has been working on projects across Florida in a range of ecosystems including cattle ranches and dairies, oyster reefs, urban streams, and, of course, wetlands! In her spare time, Dr. Griffiths enjoys spending time hiking with her husband and cat when the weather is cooler but when the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can find her woodburning, knitting, baking, or reading.
