Stop Overthinking It!

Proofread, Hit Submit, and Feel Amazing

Oct 10, 2025

If you’ve been staring at your college application wondering if it’s perfect enough, here’s your sign: it doesn’t have to be. Your goal this week? Get it finished, proofread, and submitted. You’ll feel so much better once it’s off your list. (We promise!)

Perfection Isn’t the Goal — Progress Is

Colleges aren’t looking for perfection; they’re looking for you. The real you — your interests, your goals, your story. So, don’t let small things (like a word choice or formatting worry) stop you from turning in an application that’s already strong.

Proofread Like a Pro

Before you hit submit, read your essay and short answers out loud.  You’ll catch awkward phrasing and missing words much faster. Ask a parent, teacher, or friend to take one quick look too. Two pairs of eyes are better than one!

Double-Check the Details

  • Make sure your name and contact info match across forms.
  • Review your activity list . Highlight leadership, initiative, and what excites you most.
  • Once you've hit submit, confirm your transcripts and test scores (if you’re submitting them) are sent.

Don’t Wait! There’s No Advantage in Holding Back

The earlier you apply, the earlier you can:

  • Receive your admission decision
  • Get scholarship consideration
  • Start planning your next chapter

There’s no benefit to waiting and every reason to check this big goal off your list now.

Bottom line? Don’t let “perfect” get in the way of done. Finish, proofread, hit submit, and celebrate! You’ll feel incredible when you do, and your future self will thank you.
