Florida Southern to Host a Conversation With Alex Kershaw

Florida Southern College welcomes Alex Kershaw for an open conversation at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25 at the Carole and Marcus Weinstein Computer Sciences Center. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Kershaw discusses his national best-seller book, “The First Wave: The D-Day Warriors Who Led the Way to Victory in World War II.”

Alex Kershaw, is the author of numerous books on World War II, including The New York Times best-sellers “The Bedford Boys,” “The Longest Winter,” “Avenue of Spies,” and his latest book “Against All Odds,” the untold story of four of the most decorated soldiers of World War II.

A graduate of University College, Oxford, England, Kershaw’s journalism has appeared in many magazines and newspapers since 1990, and he has also worked as a screenwriter and in television, penning an award-winning 2004 documentary on Bobby Kennedy. He is an honorary colonel in the 116th Infantry Regiment of the 29th Infantry Division. Since 2012, Kershaw has led many battlefield tours of Europe, and will be leading a tour for the Friends of the National World War II Memorial to London, Normandy, and Paris in 2024. Kershaw currently serves as Resident Historian of the Friends of the National World War II Memorial.
