4+1 or Early MAcc

Get Started Early

Currently enrolled accounting students are able to take advantage of two accelerated MAcc options. After earning 93 credit hours and achieving senior status, current accounting students are eligible to start graduate coursework.

4+1 MAcc

Schedule a maximum of 12 graduate credit hours in your senior year billed at the undergraduate rate. Graduate with your bachelors degree as scheduled, and then graduate with your masters one year later! After earning your bachelors, the program is billed at the graduate rate.

Early MAcc

Imagine completing two degrees during your time at FSC, and we’re not talking about a double major. We are talking about graduating with your bachelor’s degree and master’s degree — on the same day! Add an additional year of undergrad and take advantage of undergraduate aid* for all 5 years. The entire program is billed at the undergraduate rate.

*Federal and state aid may have credit hour limits

Traditional MAcc

Start the MAcc after you graduate with your bachelors degree. The entire program is billed at the graduate rate, and you will finish in 16-24 months.

My position as a Staff Consultant in the Technology Risk practice at the Tampa office of EY would not have been possible without FSC.  Ranging from the vast professional network of Prof. Celina Jozsi, to the coursework that prepared me for the CPA exam, to the College's assistance with landing multiple internships prior to starting full-time, I was fortunate to gain both academic and practical experience that has proven to be invaluable to me in my current role.

Chase Ibbotson

Joining Florida Southern's accounting program has been the best decision I have made. The knowledge and mentorships that were gained during my tenure in Florida Southern's accounting program not only allowed me to excel in the classroom and CPA exam but also led me to a role in the public accounting industry. Currently, working in the public accounting industry I am confident and efficient in the decision making and procedures that are needed on the job.

Daphne Compere

My favorite aspect of FSC’s accounting program is the small intimate classrooms and all the supportive accounting professors. During my time here, I was able to secure an internship at Adamson+Co, an accounting firm in Winter Haven. It is both rewarding and exciting that I am able to use the skills I have acquired within the program in actual practice!

Edgar Sandoval

The relationships I was able to forge with my professors during my time at FSC was instrumental in my securing a career after graduation. The intimate classroom settings, the comprehensive coursework, and the outside-of-classroom experiences offered by the program are unmatched in the area. Were it not for my professors dedicating themselves to seeing students succeed beyond the classroom, I would not find myself where I am at today: at a multi-national accounting firm working alongside brilliant minds thanks to a professor who saw something in me.

Katie Sharp

My interactions with professors and peers have been a great experience so far. The professors are here to help students succeed and to find internships that will eventually land them a full-time offer. This summer, I worked as a tax intern with BDO. BDO is the 5th largest accounting firm globally, and they offer tax, assurance and financial advisory services.

Rea Joerger

"Florida Southern’s Accounting program and faculty aided me in preparing, networking and ultimately securing a job with one of the Big 4 Accounting Firms. The experience of all the accounting professors goes far beyond the classroom, which has assisted and inspired me throughout my education."

Rea Joerger passed all four parts (AUD, REG, FAR and BEC) of the CPA exam while completing her MAcc degree! The CPA is a rigorous exam, evidenced by the low pass rates. As of 2022, the CPA national average pass rates for the first time exams are as follows: AUD 46.35%, BEC 57.33%, FAR 44.95%, REG 60.03%. We are so proud of Rea!
