Instructor of Nursing

Behrens

Learning is a shared responsibility. Instructors must engage learners by sharing their knowledge & experience in a way that students can understand while the learner must commit to being open minded and thinking critically about the content presented. I believe that a good nursing instructor not only improves a student's educational experience but leaves a lasting impression on their future practice.

Biography

I grew up here in Lakeland, Florida where I eventually attended Florida Southern College for my undergraduate studies. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from FSC and started practicing as an Emergency Department nurse at our local hospital. Following my time as an ED nurse, I worked in the Labor and Delivery for several years. I discovered my passion for education while precepting students at the bedside. I completed my Master of Science in Nursing Education at Florida Southern, and have enrolled in a PhD degree program to further my own education.
