Outdoor Recreation

Explore Florida with your classmates!

The FSC outdoor recreation program offers students a variety of fun outdoor activities, such as bicycling, horseback riding, kayaking, and rock climbing.

The Outdoor Recreation program at the Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center offers fun, day-long expeditions to Florida State Parks, natural attractions, and recreational facilities like Florida’s natural springs, indoor rock climbing facilities, the Ocala National Forest, east and west coast beach trips, and more! With multiple trips per semester, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to explore the great outdoors.

Due to COVID-19, our Spring 2021 trips are limited but still available.

Equipment Checkout

The Wellness Center’s equipment checkout program allows students to plan their own outdoor recreation adventures while staying on budget!

Equipment will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring your valid FSC ID to check out equipment at the wellness center front desk. To return camping gear, a second appointment will be made at the time of checkout to allow time to set up equipment for return inspection.

Although these services are free to students, charges will apply if equipment is damaged or lost.

Please call or stop by to be sure equipment is available and to arrange a time to discuss the safe use and care of the equipment.

Sporting equipment, tailgate games and hammocks may be checked out for 48 hours at a time. Camping equipment may be checked out for 72 hours. If an extension is needed, please contact the membership services coordinator.
