How to Apply for Financial Aid

Financial aid can feel complicated, so here is the whole process at a glance. The most important step is the first one: apply. Once you are accepted, most of your merit aid is awarded automatically, and these steps help you capture everything else you are eligible for.

    Applying is what unlocks your aid. You are automatically considered for a merit scholarship, and most awards are automatic for eligible students once you are accepted, provided academic requirements are met.

    File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which determines your eligibility for all federal aid, including loans and need-based institutional aid. Florida Southern College's code on the FAFSA is 001488. The FAFSA becomes available October 1.

    Florida residents attending a private college may be eligible for a grant through the EASE program, and Florida Bright Futures funds also apply here. Learn more about eligibility for Florida state aid programs.
