Undergraduate Merit Scholarships

No essay. No separate application. No catch. Nearly every first-year student earns a merit scholarship at Florida Southern, simply by applying, and it's yours to renew all four years.

You’ve Already Earned It

At Florida Southern, a merit scholarship isn't something you chase; it's something you earn just by being you. Nearly every first-year student receives one, and there's no separate application. When you apply for admission, you're automatically considered, and your award is based on your academic record. It's our way of investing in your potential from day one.

You're automatically considered

No separate form, no essay, no deadline beyond your admission application. Apply, and you're in the running.

Your award is based on your academic record

Your GPA and coursework determine which scholarship you receive. Stronger records earn larger awards.

It's renewable

Merit scholarships renew each year you attend, as long as you maintain the required GPA and remain a full-time student.

It stacks

Your merit scholarship combines with other aid you may receive, from Florida state programs to need-based grants, to make FSC even more affordable.

First-Year Merit Scholarship Awards

Each award is named for a longtime college benefactor whose generosity makes a Florida Southern education possible. You'll be considered for all of them automatically; the one you receive is based on your academic record.
