Changes and pressures often generate issues that challenge our Republic, and may even threaten the institutions designed to protect our fundamental freedoms. These institutions are not self-sustaining. They need attention and care. Our core documents may not expressly set forth specific responsibilities for individual citizens. But if we are to maintain our Republic, constant vigilance and adherence to the Rule of Law are essential.

Although the new academic year has only just started, dance students from the Department of Theatre and Dance have already been working hard. At the end of August, these dancers performed at Jacob’s Pillow, the oldest internationally acclaimed dance festival in the United States, and “the dance center of the nation,” according to the New York Times.
Need a ride? This is a free service to students, providing free cab rides from anywhere in Lakeland back to campus if you have an emergency situation or feel unsafe. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Be sure to have your Student ID ready, and to tip the drivers. Key chains with the phone number are available in the SGA Office.
