Why Mocs love living on campus

Sharing ideas and experiences is an integral part of the Florida Southern experience, and our spaces are designed to foster those kinds of interactions.

There’s Always Something To Do

There’s never a dull moment on campus! Due to our lovely Florida weather, we are able to host outdoor events all year long. This includes outdoor movie nights, live music, and many other campus club-hosted activities. Of course, there are always the annual campus traditions like the Southern Takeover concert series and Winter Wonderland, but day-to-day there is always something for our Mocs to get involved in.

Room to Explore

Campus is full of popular hang out spots, but living on campus also gives you the means to explore all of the amazing hidden spots as well. While TuTu’s is the place to be, many of our Mocs choose to study outside the Planetarium, in the McKay Archives, or in the common spaces of their dorms. There’s so many more hidden gems, you’ll just have to come check them out.

Everything You Need, All In One Place

Living on campus puts you right in the center of the action while keeping you close to all the resources you may need. We have facilities for both mental and physical health, a multitude of dining options, a recreational center, and a beautiful lakefront view. The amenities of campus paired with the proximity to downtown Lakeland is the perfect combination for an awesome college experience.

Being A Part Of Our Community

Florida Southern is truly just one big community. Being on campus puts you in the best spot to meet new people, learn new things, and be a part of something bigger. The best moments are those you least expect like playing pool games in Spivey or baking cookies in the Fannin center. Forge connections, learn from those around you, and grow to your greatest potential.

You will never be bored!

Life at Florida Southern isn’t just about what you do in the classroom. With more than 100 student clubs and organizations, life outside the classroom can be just as engaging.

I chose Florida Southern because it had the best culture. The people here are genuine sweethearts, there’s a sense of security and care that I didn’t get while visiting other schools. Florida Southern has become home to me and even after two years I still wouldn’t want to go to school anywhere else.

I knew that I wanted to get away from the cold New York weather and to an area with warmer weather, so Florida was definitely where I was looking for a school. I choose FSC because I loved how small and personal the school felt. I also really liked that the nursing program is direct entry and nursing classes start freshman year.

I chose FSC because of the class size, the feel of the campus, and the ability to get involved. I was able to double major and do all of the extracurriculars I wanted!

The campus was by far the most welcoming out of all the colleges I visited, and it felt the most like home.

When I first visited Florida Southern, I fell in love with it for its academic programs, small-college feel, and location, but the aspect that really set it apart from the other colleges I was looking at was the community. Florida Southern is such a positive, loving place, and I wanted to be a part of that.

I love the sense of community, the involvement opportunities, and how the school invests in my future.

As a Resident Assistant, I’m here to make your hall a welcoming and comfortable place for you to live, study, and just hang out. In your first year, you’ll discover your RA is a resource, an advisor, and a friend. My door is always open.

I love the amount of opportunities to learn. There’s always a chance to be a part of a project if you look for it.
