Hands-on experience is not an add-on at Florida Southern. Every student has the opportunity to intern, research alongside faculty, and travel with a professor who teaches their subject in the place it happened. Where you take those opportunities is up to you.
Get a preview of your career before you graduate. Last year alone, FSC students completed more than 1,000 internships, clinicals, and field experiences with organizations like Johns Hopkins Medicine, Moffitt Cancer Center, Morgan Stanley, and The Walt Disney Company. You'll build your resume, your network, and your confidence long before graduation.
Work shoulder-to-shoulder with faculty on real scholarship, then share it. Recent student-faculty projects have tested new ways to help Florida's coral reefs recover, explored how people perceive AI-generated content on social media, and built a virtual reality simulation that puts nursing students in the shoes of a patient who can't make themselves understood. Each semester, students present their work at Fiat Lux, our celebration of student scholarship now in its third decade.
See your field in a new part of the world. FSC's faculty-led trips range from week-long journeys to semester-long immersions across the U.S. and abroad. As a junior or senior, you can take a one-time Junior Journey trip at a reduced cost, earning academic credit while you experience a new culture firsthand.
You will not mistake Florida Southern for anywhere else. Thirteen of our buildings were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the largest single-site collection of his architecture in the world, and they are not a museum you visit. They are the classrooms you sit in, the chapel you'll celebrate in, the covered walkways you take to get out of the rain.
The rest of the campus earns its keep too: 120 acres on the shore of Lake Hollingsworth, in the middle of Central Florida. Tampa and Orlando are both about an hour away, which is why so many of our students intern at companies, hospitals, studios, and firms they would otherwise have to move for.

Most of what a college tells you is a description. These two are commitments. They are the promises we are willing to put in writing, because we are confident in what a Florida Southern education delivers.
They also do not happen by accident. Starting your first year, you work with the Office of Career Services on a structured, four-year roadmap of career-readiness milestones: resume and interview preparation, professional experience, networking, and graduate school planning, staged year by year so nothing lands on you all at once in the spring of senior year. It works: for the second year in a row, 99.1% of FSC graduates were employed or continuing their education within six months.
Complete the program, and you will secure a job or a place in graduate or professional school within six months of graduation, or we will step in with dedicated support, including loan assistance or a graduate tuition waiver.
Follow the plan, and you will graduate in four years. If you meet all the guidelines and still cannot finish on time, Florida Southern covers your remaining tuition until you do. Your advisor builds that plan with you from your very first orientation.
