GRE/GMAT Waiver Criteria

Not every applicant needs to take the GRE or GMAT. If your academic record or professional credentials demonstrate the quantitative, verbal, and analytical skills our graduate business programs require, you may qualify for a waiver.

This waiver applies to FSC's graduate business programs only: MBA, MAcc, and MS: Analytics. Nursing, education, physical therapy, and other graduate programs have separate admission requirements. See each program for admission details.

Do You Qualify?

To be considered for a GRE/GMAT waiver, you must meet both of the following conditions:

  • A minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA from your undergraduate degree
  • At least one of the criteria listed below

The Admission Committee evaluates all waiver requests on a case-by-case basis once you submit your completed application and all required materials. Meeting the listed criteria does not guarantee a waiver — it makes you eligible to be considered for one.

Waiver Criteria

You may be considered for a GRE/GMAT waiver if you meet one of the following, in addition to the 3.00 GPA minimum above:

  1. Graduate of an AACSB-accredited business school with a 3.25+ cumulative GPA
  2. Graduate of Florida Southern College with a 3.25+ cumulative GPA
  3. Graduate of Florida Polytechnic University with a 3.25+ cumulative GPA
  4. Graduate of a regionally accredited institution with a 3.30+ cumulative GPA
  5. Currently hold a master's or terminal degree (JD, MD, PhD, or similar) with a 3.0+ cumulative GPA
  6. Currently hold an active CPA license with a 3.0+ cumulative GPA
  7. Lifetime Beta Gamma Sigma member with a 3.0+ cumulative GPA
  8. At least three years of qualifying managerial experience with a 3.0+ cumulative GPA

A Note on Managerial Experience

What counts as qualifying managerial experience is determined at the discretion of the Admission Committee upon review of your completed application. If you're planning to apply based on this criterion, we recommend speaking with an admission counselor before submitting your materials.

If You Don't Qualify for a Waiver

If a waiver isn't the right fit, your admission counselor can walk you through the full application requirements and help you put together the strongest possible application.
