About the Online Business Administration Bachelor’s Degree

You already have the experience—this credential unlocks its full value.

Florida Southern College’s online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration is built for working adults who are ready to move up and need the degree to do it. You will build a foundation across every function a business runs on: accounting, management, marketing, finance, data analytics, business law, and ethics.

Every course is online. Terms run seven weeks, with six start dates a year, so you can move at the pace your life allows and adjust when it changes. And you will do it through a business school accredited by AACSB, a distinction earned by the top 6% of business schools worldwide.

Program Details

A fully online business degree for adults, taught by the Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise. Accelerated terms, an advisor who maps your path from your transcript, and coursework you shape around your goals.

The business administration curriculum covers how organizations actually run, from the accounting that tracks the money to the management that moves the people. You will work through financial and managerial accounting, business systems and processes, the legal environment, applied statistics and analytics, managerial finance, marketing principles, and strategic management.

Beyond the business core, you will complete 16 hours of upper-level coursework in a selected career path, chosen with your advisor and aligned with where you are headed. Leadership, conflict management, and other field-related courses let you build a degree that fits your specific career goals.

Every course in this non-traditional undergraduate program is offered fully online. Terms run seven weeks, with six start dates a year, and you can take up to 12 courses annually. Study in the evening, on weekends, or whenever your week has room. There is no commute and no set class time to build your life around.

Business Administration Career Outcomes

A business degree is the widest door in the building. Graduates run operations, lead teams, manage budgets, and build companies in every industry.

General or Operations Manager

Run the thing. Operations managers oversee the daily work of an organization, from staffing and budgets to processes and performance. It is the role that a business administration degree points at most directly, and it exists in every sector.

FSC prepares you with coursework in management principles, business systems and processes, applied analytics, and strategic management. General and operations managers earn a median annual salary of $129,330.

Financial Manager

Own the money. Financial managers produce the reports, direct investment activity, and build the long-term plans that keep an organization solvent and growing. Your coursework in managerial finance and financial accounting is the foundation.

Financial managers earn a median annual salary of $161,700.

Marketing or Sales Manager

Find the customer and keep them. Marketing and sales managers set strategy, lead teams, and connect what a company makes to the people who need it. Marketing principles and business analytics coursework give you both halves of the job: the creative and the quantitative.

Marketing managers earn a median annual salary of $159,660.

Entrepreneur or Small Business Owner

Build your own. The degree covers every function you would otherwise have to hire for: accounting, marketing, legal environment, and financing. Upper-level ENT coursework is available in your career path electives if this is where you are headed.

Mary Baltimore

"During my Senior Seminar class, I looked at strategy from a macro and micro level. I gained the capability of analyzing external factors such as geopolitical mechanisms, the economy, the industry, etc., in order to determine what factors created the current situation and how to use these factors to either mitigate the situation or change the course of it. This class has been instrumental to my career advancement."

Sara Palmieri

"The flexibility of the program allowed me to sustain a balanced life. I was able to manage my schoolwork and maintain my household as well as continue a part-time job. The convenience of the online courses played a key factor in allowing me to be successful in all aspects of my life. The night courses were also convenient because I was able to be with my children during the day. My overall experience during my undergraduate studies influenced my decision to continue at Florida Southern to pursue an FSC MBA."

Start Your MBA Before You Finish Your Bachelor's

At 93 credit hours, you can begin taking graduate coursework that counts toward both degrees. You finish your BS in Business Administration, then complete your MBA in one additional year.

For a working adult, that is the difference between deciding whether to go back for a master's someday and simply already being in one. The degree you came here for is the on-ramp to the next one, and your advisor helps you build the path.

Online Business Administration Program Frequently Asked Questions

Most likely, yes. Send us official transcripts from every institution you have attended and we will evaluate them course by course. Credits from regionally accredited colleges and universities transfer readily, and military service-connected educational experience may also be awarded credit. Many adult students arrive further along than they expect.

If you have earned 25 or more transferable credit hours, that is all we need from your academic history. Fewer than 25, and we will also ask for your high school transcript or GED scores.

Not necessarily. If you have earned 25 or more transferable credit hours, we do not ask for test scores at all. If you have fewer than 25, you can submit SAT or ACT scores, or apply test-optional and send an updated resume instead.

That depends on what you bring, and most students bring something.

The degree requires 124 credit hours. Starting from zero and taking two courses per 7-week term across all six terms in a year, you would finish in about two and a half to three years. Transfer credit shortens that, sometimes dramatically. A student arriving with an associate's degree is looking at a very different timeline than one starting fresh.

Your advisor will map your actual path based on your transcript before you enroll, so you know what you are signing up for.

No. Our adult undergraduate students are people with jobs, families, and years of professional experience. You will not be the only one who has been away from a classroom for a decade. Your advisor works with you from acceptance through graduation, and our faculty teach adults for a living. What you have done since your last semester is an asset in an accounting classroom, not a liability.

Tuition is $390 per credit hour for 2026-2027, plus a technology fee of $30 to $120 per semester based on your enrollment.

Florida Southern participates in all major federal financial aid programs, and adult students are eligible. External scholarships, grants, loans, and payment plans are all on the table. Employer tuition assistance is worth asking your HR department about as well.

Yes. That is what the program is designed for.

Every course is online. Terms run seven weeks, and there are six of them a year, so you can adjust your pace as your life changes without losing momentum. Take two courses when things are steady, take one when they are not, and keep moving either way.

Both lead to a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Florida Southern College, and both are taught by the Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise. The difference is how you get there. The adult program is fully online, runs in accelerated 7-week terms with six start dates a year, and is built for students who are working while they earn the degree. The residential program is an on-campus experience designed for traditional undergraduates.

Yes. The Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise is accredited by AACSB International, a distinction held by fewer than 6% of business schools worldwide. Accreditation is not automatic and it is not permanent. It requires ongoing review of faculty credentials, curriculum, and student outcomes.

What it means for you: your degree is the same degree, from the same accredited school, whether you earn it online at 9 p.m. or on campus at 9 a.m.

Yes. The business core in this program covers the foundational coursework MBA programs expect: financial and managerial accounting, economics, statistics and analytics, managerial finance, marketing, and strategic management. Graduates move directly into master's-level business study without backfilling prerequisites. Florida Southern offers its own MBA through the Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise, and your advisor can help you plan for it while you are still completing your bachelor's.
