The Justice Teaching Center for Civic Learning at Florida Southern College provides access to research; quality, law-focused, civic education partnerships with members of the legal and judicial communities; engaging, nonpartisan, standards-based lessons for classroom use; civics and law academic competitions; high-impact civic learning professional development; and a wide range of interactive programs and instructional resources.

Our Justice Teaching partnership training prepares attorneys and judges to engage with students of all ages in the classroom. We also offer professional development opportunities for civics, government, and law teachers and resource persons.

We offer many law-focused lessons and activities aligned with Florida civics and government standards for elementary and secondary classrooms. Adult and higher education resources are also available.
The Justice Teaching Center offers opportunities for Florida Southern College students to work directly with Center staff through internships, paid work study positions, and program-specific volunteer civic engagement opportunities. FSC students help with tabling events, civics- and law-focused research, data management and analytics, hosting school presentations on campus, designing and creating digital promotional materials, landmark Supreme Court case studies, event planning for the Court on Campus program, and coordinating multiple constitutional and law-related academic competitions. The Justice Teaching Center provides Florida Southern College students from all disciplines with opportunities to observe live appellate arguments on campus each year. Students with an interest in pre-law, criminology, political science, business, and a wide range of other disciplines are invited to attend the Sixth District Court of Appeal to hear oral arguments in real cases progressing through the courts.
