Ready to Travel? Schedule Your Planning Meeting

Before anything else, email the Office of Student Travel to schedule a planning meeting. Plan to meet two semesters before the semester you intend to study abroad.

In this meeting, you'll explore the options that fit your academic path and learn how to get cleared academically, socially, and financially, so your credits transfer back to Florida Southern.

Looking to Study Somewhere FSC Doesn't Travel?

If your destination isn't among our direct partners, two affiliate agencies can connect you there. Academic Programs International and the  American Institute For Foreign Study  work with institutions in Ireland, Japan, Brazil, Australia, and many more, across fall, spring, and summer terms, in a wide range of majors.

The Office of Student Travel helps you with the Florida Southern Semester Application, while the program application itself is submitted through the agency's own website.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Studying abroad may cost less than you'd expect. Much of your Florida Southern financial aid may apply to a semester or year abroad.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • You must register for at least the equivalent of 12 semester hours abroad to receive financial aid.
  • Much of your state and federal financial aid may qualify to cover study abroad.
  • Some FSC-based aid, such as athletic scholarships, ROTC scholarships, and Academic Merit Awards, may not apply to study abroad.
  • Federal Direct student loans may be available for summer travel. Contact the Office of Financial Aid for details.
  • You are not eligible to study abroad during the semester in which you plan to graduate.
