Roberts Center Reading Clinic

Our Approach
The clinic uses positive, effective instruction designed to help every child become a successful reader. Tutors use Orton-Gillingham methods alongside other research-based strategies to meet each student's academic needs. Multi-sensory and multiple-intelligence approaches keep learning engaging and matched to each child's learning style.
Our reading tutors are trained professional teachers who continually sharpen their skills through ongoing professional development. We see ourselves as partners with families, and the clinic also works to empower parents with the knowledge to advocate for their child's learning differences.
What to Expect
Sessions run approximately 60 minutes, and the schedule is arranged directly between the tutor and the parent or guardian. Because tutor and staff schedules are set closely, we ask for 24 hours' notice if a session must be missed.
A parent or guardian must remain on The Roberts Academy campus for the duration of each session, unless prior arrangements have been made with the tutor and Roberts Center staff.
Before tutoring begins, parents complete a family history information sheet describing the child's academic history and any testing related to learning differences. This information helps establish the right tutoring plan and is kept strictly confidential within the Roberts Center Reading Clinic.
Cost and Payment
Tutoring sessions are $45 each and are held at The Roberts Academy.
Payment is due at the time of each session unless other arrangements have been made. You can pay online through an account the clinic sets up for you, with instructions sent once your account is ready. To pay by check, make it payable to Florida Southern College with the memo line: Roberts Center Reading Clinic / your child's name.
