Florida Southern College Alumni Board Expectations

Members of the Florida Southern College Alumni Board serve as leaders, ambassadors, and advocates for the College. Board members are expected to actively support alumni engagement initiatives and strengthen connections within the Florida Southern community. To remain in good standing, to adhere to the following commitments:

Spivey Society Membership and Engagement

Maintain annual membership in the Spivey Society.
Attend at least one Spivey Society reception or event annually.

Board Meeting Participation

Attend a quarterly Alumni Board meeting, either in person or virtually. These include:

On-Campus Fall Retreat
Winter Virtual Meeting
On-Campus Homecoming Meeting
Summer Virtual Meeting

Alumni Programming Involvement

Board members are encouraged to actively support alumni engagement initiatives, which may include:

Volunteering at alumni events such as Homecoming or regional receptions
Hosting alumni gatherings, dinners, or networking events
Personally inviting fellow alumni to attend signature events, reunions, and giving initiatives
Supporting alumni outreach efforts, including follow-up calls and engagement campaigns
Encouraging alumni participation through time, talent, and philanthropic support
