Secondary Education majors enjoy the options and versatility that come with being able to teach students in grades 6 through 12.
Secondary Education certification requires you to start taking courses your freshman year, beginning with Foundation of Education that introduces you to educational trends and topics.
Students will work hands-on with middle and high school students in the subject area of their major beginning the first semester enrolled in education courses.
You will receive personal attention to your particular goals and have easy access to faculty expertise.
Secondary English Education majors have the option of obtaining the State of Florida ESOL endorsement upon graduation.
FSC provides extensive practice in the field through hands-on experiences working directly with students in middle and high schools.
Florida Southern College holds Florida state-approved accreditation for the following secondary education certifications.

There is always something interesting happening at Florida Southern.
We offer a 5th-year graduate program that allows you to earn a Master in Education in four semesters.
Each year, FSC secondary education majors find job opportunities at traditional schools as well as charter, magnet, and private institutions located locally, nationally, and abroad.
We sponsor the Epsilon Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society for education majors.
