Our Theater Performance program is a highly competitive, hands-on theatre program with dedicated theatre faculty and devoted students.
A BFA will get you noticed. Buff up your résumé or prepare for entry into graduate school with this degree!
Because theatre is a performance medium, your work in the major is entirely engaged. All of your courses are based on active involvement and performance.
Study with faculty that include recipients of the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival award as well as design awards from the Orlando International Fringe Festival.
Gain off-campus experience with faculty-led study abroad trips and our junior study trip to New York City.
Students may be accepted into the Theatre Performance B.F.A. program only through an audition in their area of expertise
Due to current campus visit restrictions the remaining auditions are being submitted by video. The updated deadline for video submissions is May 15, 2020.
Auditions are offered throughout the school year on an appointment basis. The prospective student for the Theatre Performance B.F.A. degree will need to prepare two monologues of a contrasting style.
Scholarships are awarded based on an audition and interview by the theatre faculty. B.F.A. auditions will automatically be considered for scholarship eligibility.
Our Theatre Arts major does not require an audition for entry into the program!
Please Note: Scholarships are only awarded based on auditions and an interview with theatre faculty.
In THE 2220 Voice and Dialect for the Actor, you’ll cover the fundamentals of voice production and the study of the voice as a performance instrument. This includes basic techniques for proper breathing, sound production, articulation, projection, and colorization.
