Hollis Fellows in Education

Making a difference has its rewards

As parents of a Florida Southern graduate, Mark and Lynn Hollis established the Hollis Fellows in Education Program to provide scholarships to education majors who plan to pursue teaching careers.

The application period for fall 2020 has closed and will re-open in August for fall 2021.

Applications have two possible deadline dates. The priority application date is November 1, and applications are due no later than January 3.

To be considered, students must:

  • Must be Florida resident graduating from Florida High School or Homeschool
  • 3.0 weighted cumulative GPA
  • 24 ACT or
  • 1160 SAT
  • Submit a completed FAFSA and demonstrate financial need as determine by the College Financial Aid office.

Scholarships are awarded to first-year students and are renewable each year for those who maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Recipients must also sign an agreement to teach for three years in the Florida public school system following graduation from Florida Southern College.

Scholars Weekend

Students who apply by November 1 will be notified if they are selected for an interview by November 15. Students who apply by January 3 will be notified by January 15.

Finalists will have an opportunity to interview at one of the following Scholars Weekend dates: November 22, January 24, or February 21.
