We award departmental scholarships to students pursuing certain academic programs—including business, nursing, music, and education.
Applicants interested in receiving scholarship funding at Florida Southern may prepare and submit one sample of any of the following for review (minimum 2500 words):
Submissions will be assessed for originality, creativity, clarity of writing, and individual voice.
This scholarship provides support for promising students with financial need to pursue degrees in Accounting or Citrus at Florida Southern College.
As parents of a Florida Southern graduate, Mark and Lynn Hollis established the Hollis Fellows in Education Program to provide scholarships to education majors who plan to pursue teaching careers.
$7,500, plus $500 for Textbooks
The Minority Teacher Education Scholars (MTES) program is a collaborative performance-based scholarship program for African-American, Hispanic-American, Asian-American, and Native American students administered by the Florida Fund for Minority Teachers, Inc. (FFMT).
Music scholarships are awarded based upon skill level and area of concentration. Additionally, Florida Southern College awards $500 per year to members of an ensemble: band, chorale, orchestra (strings). Ensemble scholarships are only available for non-majors; auditions are required. For information, contact the Office of Admissions at 863.680.4131.
To be considered, students must be admitted and enrolled in the undergraduate Bachelor of Science in nursing program, achieve academic excellence, and have a demonstrated financial need. Scholarships vary in amount and are renewable for each year of study.
No separate application is required, eligible candidates will be notified in the Admissions process.
Scholarships are awarded based on an audition and interview by the theatre faculty. BFA auditions will automatically be considered for scholarship eligibility.

Prestige Scholarships are Florida Southern’s most esteemed scholarships. Students interviewing for these scholarships represent the top ten percent of FSC’s applicant pool.
Scholarship opportunities are available for those students pursuing careers in Christian ministry, education and healthcare.
A variety of scholarships are available to students who meet a designated set of criteria, such as the Hazel Haley and Buelah Kahler scholarships.
