COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions

We understand this may be a stressful time for all of our prospective students and their families. Our FSC admissions team is here for you as always, and we want to provide answers to some of the questions you’ve been asking regarding our response to this time.

We also encourage you to reach out to your admissions counselor at any time — we are available through email, phone, or text.

Admitted Students

No, any school financial aid you have been awarded will continue to apply to your cost of attendance throughout your time at FSC. FSC aid also continues to be renewable for four years of enrollment (assuming satisfactory academic performance).

Federal and state aid are dependent on any changes made by respective governments, although we do not anticipate a situation in which aid from those sources will change drastically for this upcoming year.

Our counselors are reviewing financial aid packages (via phone or zoom meeting) with students and families to determine how we can best make an outstanding FSC education an affordable option.

Florida Southern will continue to grant college credit for test scores and grades through IB, AP, AICE, CLEP and dual enrollment. Students will receive an evaluation of credit from the Registrar’s Office later this summer once the necessary grades, exams scores, or transcripts are supplied to FSC. The college will grant credit for IB students whose course grades equate to the requisite scores on the exams they are no longer able to take. AP and CLEP exam scores will still be processed as the on-line exams are available. Dual enrolled students who submit credits for a spring/summer 2020 term as pass/fail will also be awarded credit the corresponding course. Please be sure to send in all transcripts and test scores as they become available. Please contact your counselor to discuss questions related to awarding college credit.

We know this is a stressful and uncertain time for you and your family, and our admissions team is here to help. You can reach your admissions counselor by email or phone during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Although our staff members are working remotely, we are still able to put you in touch with anyone who you feel will help you make an informed college decision — whether that’s a professor, current student, or one of us.

While we are continuing to adhere to the traditional May 1 candidate reply date, we have extended our deposit refund deadline to June 1 to provider greater flexibility to families. We also understand that some students and families may need more time before making a final decision on what college to attend. If that is you, please e-mail us at Please know that the earlier you can decide, the better we can plan for your arrival on campus or extend invitations to other students.

Prospective Students
