Where are you from?
What do you enjoy most about working in Admissions at FSC?
I’m so happy that I get to work with students and their families during this time of transition. I love seeing students find a place that will help them blossom, and it’s so much fun to see people light up when they find a school that they can call home for their college years.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Lakeland on a Saturday?
I’d start by picking up brunch ingredients at the farmers market and experimenting with new recipes, then spend the afternoon reading at a coffee shop like Concord before going to get dinner at a local restaurant in Downtown Lakeland!
Do you have any favorite music, books, and TV shows?
I tend to read a lot of fantasy and historical fiction; most recently, I’ve enjoyed Patrick Rothfuss’s Kingkiller Chronicle and Kerry Greenwood’s Phryne Fisher novels. For music, if I’m in the car, I can usually be found singing along (badly) to Fall Out Boy, the Arctic Monkeys, Man with a Mission, or Disney soundtracks.
What is something surprising about you?
Prior to coming to FSC, I spent two years working in Japan as an ESL teacher! International experience has been pivotal in my own life, and that’s the reason I’m so excited about all the different options FSC students have to see the world.
What about hobbies or outside interests?
I love playing board games and tabletop roleplaying games (I even taught a class on Dungeons and Dragons during my time as an undergrad!) I also spend time sewing, hiking, and traveling. As a new Florida resident, I’m loving the chance to explore the area -- Lakeland’s central location is a perfect base!
