Will I need to purchase a textbook?

You do not have to purchase a textbook.

Registration & Withdrawal

Can I register online?

Yes. All students must register for teacher workshops via the online application.

Who do I contact if I have admissions questions?

Contact Donna Davis at 863.616.6457 or by e-mailing tws@flsouthern.edu.

How do I cancel my registration, withdraw or receive a refund?

  • A full refund is available if your registration is cancelled no later than the Wednesday prior to the workshop start date.
  • A full refund or transfer to another workshop, if space is available, is offered if/when a workshop is cancelled.
  • A grade of "W" will be assigned if your withdraw from a course by the Wednesday during the week of the workshop. No refund is available at this time.
  • All cancellations or requests for withdrawal must be faxed to 863.680.4565 or emailed to registrar@flsouthern.edu. Please include the course title and dates which the class is scheduled to meet in your withdrawal information/correspondence.

Certification Questions

Always check with your county licensing office to be sure that the courses you intend to take will meet your specific certification needs and requirements.

It is your responsibility to determine which workshops meet your specific needs.

Are courses offered by Florida Southern College accredited and meet teacher certification and recertification requirements in Florida?

Yes, all courses are fully approved and meet the Florida Department of Education requirements for teachers. All courses are conducted by professional educators with advanced degrees in education.

Do I have to earn a certain grade in a Teacher Workshop?

A grade of “C” or better must be earned in all professional education courses.

How do I verify my certification requirements?

To verify your individual certification requirements, please request a Letter of Eligibility from the State of Florida, Department of Education prior to registering for the teacher workshop(s). In your correspondence please provide them with the following information: Your Name; DOE # or Social Security #; Florida Southern College; the Course #; Title of Course; and Course Description. You may email the certification department at edcert@fldoe.org.


How do I request a transcript from Florida Southern College?

We offer online transcript ordering through our partner National Student Clearinghouse. The cost is $7.50 per copy and you will need a credit card and a valid email account. Transcripts will not be released if there is an outstanding balance on your Florida Southern College account. If you have questions, please contact the Registrar’s office at 863.680.4127.

Technical Requirements & Support

What are the technical requirements for taking an online course with Florida Southern College?

When will technical support be provided for online students and faculty? Who do they contact?

Students needing assistance should first contact their instructor. If the problem cannot be resolved at the instructor level, students may contact the Tech Buddies at 863.680.4212. Technical support for online workshops will be offered by FSC’s Tech Buddies.

For the fall and spring workshops, Tech Buddies will be available during the following times:  Monday through Friday, 7:00–10:00 PM and Sunday 7:00–10:00 PM On Saturday please contact your instructor.

How do I obtain my ID# if I have lost or misplaced it?

Please email tws@flsouthern.edu or call Donna Davis at 863.616.6457 and she will provide this for you.

How do I obtain a password and user ID# to log on to FSC’s Portal?

Your password is provided to you on the Registration Confirmation email that is sent within 7 to 10 business days after you have applied for a workshop. If you need to request the password again, please contact the Rinker Technology Help Desk for assistance at 863.616.6426.

Costs & Financial Aid

When will I be billed for the workshop and how do I go about paying for the course?

After submitting the online application you will receive an email stating that we received your application. Within 7 to 10 business days you will receive an email confirmation which includes your password and user ID# so that you can go on to the Portal and make payment for the workshop. Payment is required upon receipt of your registration email. Please be aware that courses will be dropped from the student’s schedule on the day after the registration deadline for the Session if not paid for in full or if no arrangements have been made through student accounts. The cost of each Teacher Workshop course is $610.00.

Please log into the FSC Portal with your FSC ID# and password to submit your payment; Discover, MasterCard, Visa, and American Express is accepted. You can find the payment option in the portal by clicking on the student tab and then clicking on the Financial Information link in the left sidebar, and lastly click “Go to CashNet” near the bottom of the page. If you have any questions regarding your student account, please contact the Office of Student Accounts at 863.680.4154 (M-F, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM).

Is Financial Aid available for Teacher Workshops?

Federal financial aid is not currently available for Teacher Education Workshops.

Is a payment plan available for payment of the Teacher Workshop Courses?

Yes, if interested please contact Liz Young at 863.680.3932 or via email at eyoung2@flsouthern.edu.

Temporary Teaching Certificate Courses

If you currently hold a Temporary Teaching Certificate and need to complete coursework, please see the courses that we offer which align with the items on your Letter of Eligibility.

Please note that we advise you to confirm these courses with your district office and/or the Florida Department of Education before enrolling to verify that they meet your individualized certification requirements.

Effective instructional techniques, strategies and materials to meet the needs of diverse learners including students with disabilities EDU 3333 – Foundations of Education III, 2 credit hours

Child and adolescent development including theories and principles of learning EDU 1107 – Foundations of Education I, 4 credit hours
