While you do not need to have an advanced degree to teach at the K-12 level, planning to pursue your Master's in Education (MED) while an undergrad is a wise move. Not only are you likely to make more money when you graduate, but your expanded knowledge and skill set will set you up to excel in leadership positions outside the classroom in areas such as curriculum design and school administration.

While classroom teachers are in high demand in many areas of the nation, positions within top school districts are competitive. Even if your goal is to stay in the classroom, holding a master's degree from an institution recognized numerous times by the Florida Department of Education, makes you more attractive to potential employers as it denotes exceptional experience and training.

Through our Master of Arts in Transformational Curriculum and Instruction 4+1 option, non-education majors can also enroll in graduate-level coursework to preparing them to teach.

I decided to pursue the LECOM Early Admission program because it allowed me to attend a fantastic medical school that's close to home. It has also granted me the ability to pursue my dream of becoming a pediatrician without the added financial burden of applying to multiple medical schools. LECOM is also recognized as one of the most affordable private medical schools in the country. I strongly encourage other students to consider finances and location when selecting a program.
