WHY NURSING:

"My mom is my inspiration; she was a nurse when she lived in Colombia. Growing up, she was always taking care of me. She’s compassionate and cares about other people and I grew up with that as my example. I’ve always wanted to help people, which is something I can do through nursing. I was fortunate enough to go on a mission trip to Panama last semester, where I provided free medical care through the Global Medical Brigade. Working with the children in that program encouraged me to pursue pediatrics. I hope to bring a chapter of the Global Medical Brigade to FSC!"

“Everyone here wants to see each other succeed. There’s no sense of competition, just pride in what you and your peers have accomplished.”

WHY FSC:

"I was drawn to the nursing program because it’s one of the best in the state. It’s rigorous and challenging, so we’re being pushed to be the best nurses we can be. When I toured other schools, like UMass Amherst and UCF, I didn’t get the feeling that that was where I was meant to be. At Florida Southern, it really felt like home to me. Experiencing the community and learning about the nursing program during Scholars Weekend made me fall in love with this school. Everyone here wants to see each other succeed. There’s no sense of competition, just pride in what you and your peers have accomplished."
