Student Government Association is hosting a donation and supply drive for Ukraine March 23 through April 7. The supplies will be shipped the week of April 11.

SGA is accepting items, as well as monetary donations, that can be made online through www.flsouthern.edu/giving. If donating online, make sure to add “Ukraine Project” to the “other section”. If donating through PayPal, add “Ukraine Project” to “special instructions”.

Items needed for donation are medical tourniquets, hemostatic-Celox, first aid kits, painkillers such as Ibuprofen or Tylenol, adhesive plasters in rolls, bandages, soothing ointments, and antiseptics.

The Moc Mart will be providing some supplies so students can use their swipes to purchase items to donate. The supplies can be placed in donation boxes at Moc Mart, TUTU’s, the Lobby and Student Org room in Rogers, and the Fannin Center.

SGA will also be tabling from 11 a.m. to noon on March 23, March 30 and April 6 to collect items and share information about the donation drive.

Once the donation drive ends on April 7, the items will be shipped to the Ukraine Express in New Castle, Del., where the items will be delivered to areas in need.

“The Student Government Association at Florida Southern stands with the people of Ukraine during this heartbreaking tragedy,” said Natalie McGinniss, administrative vice president of SGA.

“In times of crises like the one we see today in Ukraine, acts of compassion and generosity can make a huge difference. We hope our donations to Ukraine continue to help our brothers and sisters overseas as they show great courage and perseverance during these hard times.”
