On April 29, Florida Southern College announced that it relaunched the Junior Journey program for eligible juniors and seniors for this summer.

Junior Journey is where FSC students can study around the United States and abroad depending on their major or general interest. Students will study at international universities that FSC affiliates with.

The program was put on pause due to the pandemic in 2020 and postponed until further notice. All students who couldn’t attend Junior Journey will be provided a financial stipend after their graduation; the amount will vary per student.

This summer, students have a chance to travel to Germany or Spain over 10 days for a deposit of $350.

Dr. Sarah D. and L. Kirk McKay Jr. Chair in American History, Government, and Civics, Associate Professor of Political Science, and Pre-Law Adviser, Dr. Bruce Anderson, will accompany students to Germany over the Summer.

"Our long and complex relationship with Germany - and the number of families that can trace their roots there, or had family members serve there, makes Germany an enduringly fascinating destination," Dr. Anderson said. "We'll see everything from medieval castles to Cold War artefacts like "Checkpoint Charlie" on this trip, along with free days so that you can explore on your own!"

Dr. José Manuel Garcia, Associate Professor of Spanish and Program Coordinator, announced that spots are quickly filling up for the trip to Spain.

“It has been the best attended study abroad Junior Journey trip at FSC and it takes place in the Mediterranean coast,” Dr. Garcia said.
