Florida Southern College has a long-standing reputation for excellence in teaching and research, which results in the development, preparation, and advancement of educational leaders in K-12 and higher education institutions across the country who have a positive and consequential impact on society.

Florida Southern’s Master of Education in Transformational Curriculum and Instruction program provides the next level of skills and credentials allowing students to advance a career in education and enhance their knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

Full-time faculty who design and deliver instruction in the eight courses in the program engage in individual and collaborative research of both a theoretical and practical nature, providing a wealth of knowledge from which the students benefit. Faculty is dedicated and attentive to their students' professional needs as they engage with the curriculum, faculty, and classmates. The faculty mentor, model, and encourage their students to apply their knowledge to their practice in the K-12 classroom. The program attracts practicing K-12 teachers who desire to extend their understanding of their practice with innovative strategies through study and research.

The Master of Education in Transformational Curriculum and Instruction is designed for teachers with a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate. It focuses on transformational teaching methods, including active, student-centered, collaborative, experiential, and problem-based learning. All courses are delivered online, allowing professional educators to complete coursework in as little as four semesters.

"This environment has allowed me to collaborate with colleagues near and far from the convenience of my home. The Florida Southern Master of Education has opened my eyes to a multitude of areas within the field that I had little experience with before. As a graduate of a large university for my undergraduate degree, I cannot emphasize enough how much more personalized the virtual learning education is at Florida Southern" said Ashley Bailey, who earned her MEd from the program.

The School of Education at Florida Southern also offers a Master of Arts in Transformational Curriculum Instruction (MAT) for individuals who want to transition to a teaching career, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership (M.Ed.), as well as two Doctor of Education programs. Scheduling is flexible and convenient for professionals working full time.
