Lauren Morhard began a career in aviation and finds herself up in the clouds, sometimes on a daily basis!
Lauren is a proud member of Florida Southern's class of 2021. She participated in Greek Life, Student Government Association, Orientation Coordinators, and more! Post-graduation, Lauren has accepted a position at Cirrus Aircraft in Knoxville, TN as a Delivery Account Manager. We had the pleasure to speak with Lauren and learn more about her journey.
What was your area of study while attending FSC?
I was a double major in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration.
Why FSC?
When I came to tour FSC, I was impressed by the campus, faculty, and involvement of the students.
What led you to this career path/when did you know this is what you wanted to do?
About six months after graduation, I was ready to make a career shift from insurance to something new. My fiancé, Anderson Baker, a class of 2020 FSC alum, and I decided to move from Lakeland, FL, to his hometown of Knoxville, TN. I was excited about the move and eager to explore a new career path and opportunities. I began job searching and network building in Knoxville. When I learned about Cirrus Aircraft, I was immediately fascinated! Cirrus is the global leader in personal aviation with a mission to deliver an aviation experience that is the pinnacle of innovation, quality, and safety. It's an incredible mission that I get to be a part of! Fun fact: Cirrus’ SR Series is the best-selling, single-engine piston aircraft for the 20th year in a row, and the Vision Jet is the best-selling jet in personal aviation for the 3rd year in a row!

How do you believe your time at FSC prepared you for this role?
The value of a FSC education is not just learning the curriculum itself, but learning how to be a polished professional, manage time, navigate conflict, and work towards solutions. My time taught me many things, but most importantly, it taught me how to work with people. My job requires me to work with people, both internally and externally, daily. Working with clients and discussing finances, logistics, and production timelines can be challenging, but it is my favorite part of my role with Cirrus Aircraft! We have an amazing client base, and I am grateful that I get to continue building relationships with such incredible people.
What was your reaction when you found out you received the job?
I was absolutely thrilled when Cirrus extended an offer to me. I had no aviation background but was eager to learn. With my newfound love for aviation, I am excited to learn and grow with Cirrus!
Best advice for students wanting to pursue the same path?
Keep an open mind, and always remember that the magic happens outside your comfort zone!
Favorite Memory at FSC?
My favorite memories from FSC are with my sorority sisters. Most notably, living in the Greek suites sophomore year!
