FSC To Host virtual graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 16

Apr 17, 2020

A special message for Florida Southern graduates

April 17, 2020

Dear graduating students,

Congratulations on reaching this important milestone! Earning a degree requires hard work and perseverance, and we are so proud of your accomplishments at Florida Southern.

As you know, last month the College postponed your graduation ceremonies originally scheduled for May 2. This decision was not easy to make, but it followed federal and state guidelines and prioritized the safety of our students, families, faculty, and staff.

Still, we share the disappointment that you and your families feel about postponement of our regular ceremony. It is the most meaningful event in the life of our College.

However, we are trying something new.

Florida Southern is hosting a virtual graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 16 at 1 p.m.  Students, family, and friends are invited to watch the ceremony on our websiteInstagram, and Facebook.

We need your help to make the ceremony memorable. Please complete the Graduate Information Form by Thursday, April 30 . Your information will help us create the virtual ceremony and ensure your diploma is mailed to the correct address.

While our virtual ceremony will be celebratory, we know it cannot replace the traditional graduation ceremony. Therefore, all spring graduates are invited to participate in the College’s in-person graduation ceremony tentatively scheduled for December 19, 2020.

Planning for the December ceremony and celebrations — including the very important Senior Splash — is currently underway. We will keep you informed about all developments.

You and your families are in our prayers. We hope that you will join us in praying for our healthcare professionals, leaders, and all who continue to be impacted by this pandemic.

We look forward to celebrating with you virtually on May 16!

Warm regards,

Dr. Anne B. Kerr
