College gets busy. So busy that with all these classes, clubs, events, fun friendship times and loads of homework it’s easy to forget how many awesome resources are provided to you. That’s why we created this list of Top 5 resources you should definitely check out.
Doesn’t matter if you’ve lived in Florida your entire life or just came here for college, we bet you have no idea how many awesome places and events are here. Well, guess what? We will make sure you won’t miss your chance to explore the state. Our Discover Florida program is a must check because where else can you find Halloween Horror Nights tickets for $25 or free access to places like Salvador Dali Museum, Kennedy Space Center and Typhoon Lagoon. Even more, rides both ways are always included!
Did you know that the shuttle doesn’t only take people across campus and to the apartments? Every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shuttle to Shop leaves Circle Drive (outside of the undercaf) on top of every hour and can take you places like Target, Publix, Walmart and Lakeside Village (Books-A-Million, Bed Bath & Beyond and even a movie theatre!) The shuttle is completely free and is perfect if you don’t have a car or just want to save some gas money.
In case you missed it, Florida Southern College is partnering with the Polk Museum of Art. It means that now you have an easy access to all the incredible exhibitions, presentations, tours and internship opportunities in just a short walk away from campus. Really love art? Check out After Hours when the museum stays open for three extra hours every first Thursday of the month.
Be honest, how long have you been thinking about going to the gym? FSC Wellness Center leaves you no excuses because it’s completely free and has almost anything you might need. Our Project:Fit offers one-on-one sessions with a personal trainer and nutrition specialist who will guide you toward adopting a healthier lifestyle. If one-on-one sessions aren't for you, don’t forget about Group Exercise opportunities and the ability to check out things like Giant Jenga, hammocks, tents and other kinds of equipment.
Internships, career planning, graduate programs, interviews… This list never ends. Doesn’t matter if it’s your first semester or you’ve just graduated; Career Center is here to save you from the struggle of trying to figure out your employment future on your own. Participate in “Moc” (mock) Interviews, prepare for graduate school, expand your professional network or just schedule a meeting to discuss your plans, questions and concerns. Also, you can check out our Four-Year Plan that will help you plan ahead.
