Six Days of Halloween

It’s almost Halloween and various departments and student organizations on campus will make sure there are many fun and spooky things happening for the students to enjoy. From our version of a haunted house to off-campus trips, there is something for everyone. It’s also a great opportunity to meet your Passport requirement. Many of the events will give you a Passport credit in categories such as School Pride, Fine Arts and Service and Diversity. So, wear your best Halloween costume, grab your friends and mark your calendars because Halloweek 2018 is here!

Friday, Oct. 26th

6 PM: Fall Festivities​

It’s already dress up time, Mocs! Happening in Snake Pit, Moctober Fest is here with carnival games, costume and pie-eating contests, photobooths, and so much more to prepare you for endless fun during the Halloweek 2018. Also, there’s a cool bonus: this event counts as School Pride for Passport.

8:30 PM: Haunted

Haunted houses are fun. Haunted Roux Library is even better. Every year, Roux Reads and other student organizations come together to transform our beloved library into a haunted house for one night. This provides the students an amazing and frightening walk-though experience. It’s so spooky, you will even get School Spirit Passport credit for coming!

11 PM: Spooky Fun

Don’t take your costume off after Moctober Fest just yet. Studio Box is presenting its special Halloween edition improv comedy show: Spookio Box. Everyone is encouraged to come to the Thrift Room in their spookiest costume and be ready to laugh.

Saturday, Oct. 27th

11:30 AM: Fall Spirit

Do corn mazes, hay ride, tire swings and pumpkin patches interest you? This year, FSC Garden Club organized a trip to Harvest Holler. Tickets are only $10 and, trust us, this experience is worth every penny. You can get awesome pictures, buy homemade pies and participate in many activities which will surely get you in the fall spirit. Meet everyone at the Circle Drive as the students will be carpooling to and from Harvest Holler.

2:30 & 7:30 PM: Evening of Dance

If you're not in the mood for anything spooky, FSC Dance Program’s annual fall concert Fall Into Dance is happening this Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2:30 pm October 27-29. Our talented students will be performing an array of dances, from ballet to contemporary modern dance. This concert will leave you wanting more!

10 PM: Scary Cool Music

After you came back from your trip to Harvest Holler and enjoyed all the amazing dances performed by our Dance students, end your day with some music. Come to Spook Bites and join SoCo Productions for scary good music in the Snake Pit. If music is somehow not enough for you, how about free food, Fine Arts Passport credit and an awesome Halloween atmosphere?

Sunday, Oct. 28th

8:00 AM: Surreal World

Every Halloween season, Discover Florida has a variety of trips planned for the students. This year is exceptional — and there’s something really special planned if you enjoy art. Hopefully, you already signed up to explore the world of surreal art at the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. If you did, meet outside of Branscomb at 8 a.m. to head over to and begin a surreal adventure.

Monday, Oct. 29th

5:30 PM: Día de los Muertos

Come to the Simmons Center to celebrate the Day of the Dead with Multicultural Student Council. This event includes arts and crafts, movies, and an amazing opportunity to learn more about this Mexican holiday. Plus, it counts as Service and Diversity Passport credit.

Tuesday, Oct. 30th

2 PM: For the Cookies and Cats Lovers

Do you love cats? If so, stop at the Buck Stop area to support our campus’s Cat Club. We will be selling cookies and other Halloween treats (with vegan options available) and all the profit will go towards taking care of our feral colony.

6 PM: Halloween Party

The Big Halloween Party is a perfect combination of a movie night and fall festivities like decorating cookies and painting pumpkins. It’s organized for you by the sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi and will be taking place in the Eleanor Searle Drawing Room.

7 PM: Bingo!

Without a doubt, Spooky Bingo is a must attend. Not only that this game is a lot of fun but you also have a chance to win awesome prizes provide to you by Community Living. So, come to the Thrift Room to not miss your chance to call Bingo!

8 PM: Even More Halloween Party Fun

Hosted by the Wesley Fellowship in the Fannin Center, Wesley Halloween Party is another great event with games, music and snacks. Also, whoever wears the best/most clever costume will get a cool prize.

Wednesday, Oct. 31st

8 PM: Movie Night

Are you into scary movies and don’t have plans for Halloween yet? Then Wednesday is your lucky day because Southern Cinema is hosting a movie night and presents the famous thriller, IT. We’re sure you’ve heard of this movie already, so come and enjoy it along with some free food. Scary Halloween time guaranteed.
