One of the world’s foremost authorities on the benefits of economic freedom will present the next lecture in the Politics, Law and Economics Lecture Series at Florida Southern College.

Dr. Thomas Saving, director of the Private Enterprise Research Center and University Distinguished Professor of Economics at Texas A&M University, will give the lecture, “Live Free and Prosper,” at 6 p.m. March 2 in room 112 of the Becker Business Building on the FSC campus. The lecture, sponsored by the Center for Free Enterprise, is free and open to the public.

Dr. Saving will discuss his latest book, in which he proposes that America is in danger of losing the protection of individual freedom. He will describe the benefits of freedom of exchange and the forces that make its achievement difficult, since the solutions to current economic issues have been driven by politics.

Dr. Saving, the author of numerous books and articles, is a senior fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis and held appointments by President Clinton to the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds and by President Bush to the bipartisan Commission to Strengthen Social Security.

A limited number of parking spaces are available at the Becker Business Building. Patrons should follow signs to alternative parking areas, including nearby First Presbyterian Church.
