FSC Alumna Earns Rare Award from AICPA

A graduate of FSC’s business program has distinguished herself by earning a prominent award from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Olga Timirgalieva ’08 was one of just 58 winners nationwide of the 2016 Elijah Watt Sells Award, which is given by the AICPA to CPA candidates who have obtained a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination and passed all four sections of the examination on their first attempt.

A total of 102,323 individuals sat for the examination in 2016, making the Sells Award a recognition of rare distinction.

Ms. Timirgalieva, a native of Uzbekistan, studied economics and financial management at FSC, graduating with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. She was a member of Sigma Beta Delta, the business honor society.

She went on to enlist in the U.S. Coast Guard and currently serves as a petty officer 2nd class in the Coast Guard Reserves, stationed in St. Petersburg. She studied emergency and disaster management at the American Military University and accounting at the University of South Florida. Ms. Timirgalieva is employed with the McNichols Company in Tampa.
