The Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma at Florida Southern College once again has been recognized as a high honors chapter by Beta Gamma Sigma national headquarters.

Beta Gamma Sigma is the world’s premier business honor society for elite programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and the high honors recognition was awarded to only a handful of colleges in the Southeast for 2015.

“Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International,” said MBA Program Director and Assistant Professor of Finance Chuck DuVal. “The Barney Barnett School of Business & Free Enterprise received AACSB accreditation in the summer of 2013 and immediately created a BGS chapter to recognize our elite students. This recognition is evidence of our chapter’s dedication to Beta Gamma Sigma’s mission to develop members to be student and professional leaders and to foster an enduring commitment to the founding principles and values of the society: honor and integrity, pursuit of wisdom, and service.”

The Florida Southern chapter was recognized based on more than a dozen criteria, including the chapter’s service to the community, number of sponsored events, quality of formal tapping and induction ceremonies, and percentage of those invited to join that accept.
