Florida Southern College is putting the focus on physical and mental well-being by hosting Florida’s largest outdoor yoga class! Members of the community are invited to join the students, faculty, and staff of Florida Southern College on the expansive Mr. George’s Green for an evening of relaxation and revitalization. The event is free and will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
The 45-minute beginner yoga class will be led by guest celebrity instructor Frankie Hart of Lakeland, who owns the Satya Life Yoga studio and is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher. Participants are requested to bring their own mats and may park in any of the campus visitor lots.
FSC Athletic Director and Dean of Wellness Pete Meyer said the event is designed to remind students and the community of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
“Physical activities like yoga help people to be healthy and to be more mentally alert, qualities which are critical for our students. I encourage our student body and anyone in the community to participate in this great event,” he said.
