It’s the dream of every kid who plays baseball to play in the major leagues. Even though many of the FSC Mocs baseball players may not make it that far, they got the next best thing on Feb. 25, playing in the annual spring training exhibition game between the Mocs and the Detroit Tigers.

Students, faculty, and administrators, including President Anne Kerr (right) came out to Joker Marchant Stadium to cheer for the Mocs, who held their own against the Tigers for almost four innings before eventually losing 12-0.

“This is a great experience for our players to be able to play in this game,” Mocs head coach Lance Niekro said following the game. “Our players get to watch the Tiger players take batting practice on the field and then get to play on the same field with those players. It is a special experience for our players and something they will always remember.”
