Awards Become Secondary for FSC Nursing Alumna

Natalie Barton ’19, a registered nurse in the Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Duke University Hospital, was honored with a Community Service Award in Memory of Dan S. Blalock Jr. on May 14. Over 6,800 nurses from across the Duke University Health System were eligible for the awards, and Natalie was one of only 37 to be honored.

As commencement nears for Florida Southern College students, those in the College’s Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) are also anticipating the Commissioning Ceremony set for 10 a.m. on Friday in Branscomb Auditorium. The ceremony will be presided over by Lt. Col. John Denney, the head of the Moccasin Battalion cadre.

Business Administration major Katelynn Caruthers ‘22 had no problem identifying a teacher who has had an impact on her at FSC. “My favorite professor I have had during my time at Florida Southern College has been Dr. Rich,” said Katelynn. “Dr. Rich has been my favorite professor since I took my first Western Art History class with him my freshman year.”

Florida Southern College To Host 2022 Spring Commencement Exercises On Saturday, May 7

Florida Southern College will host its Spring 2022 Commencement exercise starting at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at a ceremony held at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland. Doors will open at noon. This is the 138th Commencement exercise for the College.
