McKay Archives Center

The groundbreaking for the McKay Archives Center took place during the College's Founders Day Celebration on March 19, 2007, with Librarian of Congress Dr. James H. Billington delivering the Founders Day address and participating in the groundbreaking ceremonies.

The building was dedicated on February 20, 2009. Special guests included former first lady of Florida Rhea Chiles, United States Senator Kay Hagan of North Carolina, and Florida Southern College's Board of Trustees. See the Flickr account for more images of the day.

The architects are Lakeland-based Straughn Trout Architects, LLC, and a time-lapse view of the construction is available at their site. Other project photographs may be found here.
