Part Time Faculty
My teaching philosophy is that the classroom should be a place for an exchange of ideas while continuing to grow and learn. The classroom should be a safe community where students are able share their views and opinions. I believe that critical thinking skills to advance the nursing profession should be incorporated into the lessons. I am committed to encouraging the next generation of nurses and nurse leaders through education.
I am an educator for an organization which employs 1800 APRNs. I educate the healthcare providers on caring for the geriatric population in the long term care setting. I am active in my community, having volunteered clinical services at the local indigent clinic. I serve on the Florida Medical Directors Association Board of Directors, helping to advance the care of the geriatric population in post-acute and long-term care. I am active in our local nurse practitioner organization.
I enjoy volunteering in, and giving back to my community. I enjoy reading for pleasure and for knowledge advancement. My family is the most important thing to me.
