Mr. MacDonald received his B.A. degree in History from The University of Alabama and his M.S.L.S. from Florida State University. He brought academic and public library and records management experience with him to Florida Southern College in 1986. Here he has served as Reference Librarian, Collection Development Librarian, and since 2007 as Director of the Library.
Mr. MacDonald is President of the Florida Southern College Chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. He served as President of the Tampa Bay Library Consortium (TBLC) in 2012.
He has served as an accreditation committee member for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, is a member of the Board of the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and has served as a school volunteer since the mid-1980s.
