“My teaching philosophy is that the student is an active participant in their learning. Through activities, reflection and reinforcement of concepts, the student can build upon knowledge gained through utilization of resources provided. Not only is knowledge gained through this, but emotional intelligence, as well, as the student is able to examine and acknowledge their own emotions, as well as those of others.”
I have been a nurse for over 20 years. I obtained my ASN through Mesa Community College Boswell School of Nursing in Mesa, Arizona in 1998. I worked in several hospitals in both Arizona and Colorado, mainly in Post-Partum, Pediatrics, Antenatal and Labor & Delivery. I finally found my niche in the Neonatal Intensive Care. I have worked both Level 2 and 3 as a bedside nurse, charge nurse and transport nurse.
I obtained my RNC-NIC in 2012, my BSN from Kaplan University in 2014, and my MSN from Kaplan University this past February, 2017. I relocated to Florida in July, 2017. I am earning my DNP in Nursing Education through American Sentinel University. I began teaching for Florida Southern College just this August.
