I strive to optimize the learning and development of my students. It’s also my goal to instill a set of values among my students, which include joy for learning, creative thinking, pride in quality work, caring relationships, and servant leadership. Students will engage in challenging inquiry and research that have meaningful context. I will also do my utmost to inspire a clear sense of purpose that educators can make a consequential difference in our world.

Steve Petrie teaches doctoral education courses and serves on dissertation committees. He has public school experience as a teacher, high school guidance counselor, middle grades principal, high school principal, and area superintendent of schools. He has been honored as a Florida Principal of the Year.

Dr. Petrie's education includes a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership.

Dr. Petrie has also taught graduate educational leadership courses as an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida and Nova Southeastern University.
