Beth Crosby

Instructor of Nursing and Simulation
Lab Coordinator

My teaching philosophy is built predominantly on the Constructivism Learning Theory. I believe that learning is built by the learner on previous knowledge. Learning is therefore active. The learner is doing, perceiving, and reflecting on their new knowledge. I feel that my teaching goal is to guide learners to take ownership, use reasoning, and effectively interact within the learning environment.”

Professor Beth Crosby: Is a native Lakelander from a family with three generations of FSC alumni. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of South Florida in 1992 and has practiced as a Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatric Emergency Department nurse. She found her love for education during her time as a nurse educator at Watson Clinic. After 25 years of nursing practice, Beth pursued her desire to teach nursing by receiving her Master of Science in Nursing Education from FSC. She also successfully obtained her CNE distinction as a certified nurse educator. She enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and many other family and friends.
